Download Eric Stone's Biography as a PDF Eric Stone also known as a visual artist ArtistBenichou
first studied privately in New York with Herbert Berghof, Uta Hagen,
Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, William Hickey, Tony Allen, Austin Pendleton
& Bob Mc Andrew from the Wynn Handman Studio. Eric is well versed in most major acting
techniques and ideas of the 20th Century including the Meisner and Russian actor and director Michael Chekhov Techniques.
Michael Chekhov was famous playwright Anton Chekhov's cousin. Eric Stone first began teaching in 1983 and has contributed to the growth and success of many actors and performers including some well known stars in the US and abroad. As his acting, directorial and coaching skills began to represent a potent body of distinctions, Eric realized it was time to make his discoveries and love of acting more public. He founded the Eric Stone Studio in 1989 in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara and began touring with weekend workshops around the country. An ongoing program was designed via classes, privates, intensive workshops and seminars. His sheer passion for artistic expression and his relentless pursuit of freeing the actor led Eric to establish a permanent actor's studio. A safe, clean, non-gaming, creative and empowering "arena" for people to hone, discover and challenge their spirits to more desirable heights of experience. This approach is focused entirely on training the individual artist not delivering a general system to a group or mass. It is the strength, success and competitive edge of this training. By aiming straight at the individual, it becomes easier to understand the actor's specific needs, talents and possible problem areas. "No two human beings are alike. People are truly and fundamentally unique. They are similar and joined only in that respect. The nuances in how human beings reveal their spirit are incredibly fine, sophisticated and diverse. What an enrichment if you happen to pay attention. To brand artists is to aim at destroying their spirit and their purpose. To help them reveal their individual passion for life and creation is the only way for a coach, a teacher or an empowering friend to make a lasting and worthwhile impact. " Eric Stone The Eric Stone training method is "tools and techniques oriented but not limited to that". "The idea is to do what works to free the expression of the artist." The concepts are built in the tools not separate from them. The coaching is clear, fun, supportive and organic, meaning it's alive and continues to grow and evolve. The coach does not make empty promises of stardom but rather aims at building the actor's confidence through a thorough understanding of acting as a "doable and tangible" craft, art form and life path expression. The result is strong, confident, independent and free spirited artists. Film, television and stage acting techniques are all covered in depth and from various perspective and circumstances. Eric's stated purpose and strong commitment is to provide the finest quality, professional training and self-expression education that not only "makes sense and works" but directly contributes to sending individuals on their way to successful careers and more joyous and fulfilled life paths. Classes and all workshops are intensive and challenging to allow individuals to develop fully and for the long run. Hollywood Actors Studio offers a complete training ground for the individual intent on seriously learning the craft and seeking a career in film and television. Classes include relaxation, listening and communication skills, film technique, self-expression, cold reading, scene study, improvisation skills, film and television acting, monologue work and character development. "You will not find a better, well-rounded program for the money in LA. I thoroughly enjoyed attending Eric's class. He is a wonderful, caring teacher and professional working actor".
